Freedom Mobile trying to win back customers with $29/60GB plan

This deal is intriguing, but some competitors have offers that beat it

Freedom Mobile appears to be trying to win back some former customers through an emailed deal, not long after Bell did something similar.

According to a screenshot posted to Reddit, the limited-time win-back offer is $29/60GB CAN/US/MEX (BYOD, of course) with 5GB of Roam Beyond data (in a one-time allotment). The screenshot also notes that with the plan, Freedom will waive the $45 connection fee.

Interestingly, the original poster noted that he received this offer a month or so after leaving Freedom, adding that he had completed the survey that Freedom had given him.

Other users had noted that the monthly price will most likely stay the same, rather than change after 24 months, and that the email would’ve advertised it if it were temporary.

Honestly, this is a decent win-back offer if you are familiar with Freedom. This deal is significantly cheaper than what any of the big three offer. All three have 60GB plans, but they’re priced at $60/mo across the board. The big three flanker brands, Bell’s Virgin, Rogers’ Fido, and Telus’ Koodo, all have variants of a $50/60GB CAN/US/MEX plan as well, but that’s still more than you’d pay at Freedom.

From what I could find, the only one that could beat Freedom’s offer is Telus-owned Public Mobile, which is offering a $20/60GB unlimited CAN/US/MEX talk/text plan as part of a flash sale until Monday, Jan. 26. In fact, you could get a $30/100GB plan with unlimited CAN/US/MEX talk and text from Public right now.
