Filmmaker and producer Bolanle Austen-Peters has officially announced that two major films from her production company, BAP Productions, will hit cinemas in 2026. The projects include the long-awaited sequel, The Bling Lagosians 2, and a brand-new crime thriller titled Wire Wire.
The announcement was made via her Instagram page, where Austen-Peters teased fans with an energetic caption: “2026… 2 films dropping with some of the best actors in Nigeria. Bling Lagosians 2 & Wire Wire. Things are about to get LIT! See you all.” She said. The news quickly sparked excitement, especially among fans of The Bling Lagosians, which premiered in 2019, which makes it a long-awaited project, and it stood out for its lavish portrayal of Lagos high society, wealth, and family legacy.
With The Bling Lagosians 2, audiences can expect a return to the glamorous world that defined the original film. The film features a cast that includes Sharon Ooja, Bisola Aiyeola, Jide Kosoko, Osas Ighodaro, Broda Shaggi, and Toyin Abraham. In contrast, Wire Wire, the crime thriller, is expected to deliver suspense-driven storytelling while exploring the darker intersections of power, crime, and society.
Over the years, Bolanle Austen-Peters has built an impressive filmography that reflects her versatility and commitment to telling bold Nigerian stories. Her produced films include The Bling Lagosians (2019), Collision Course (2021), Man of God (2022), Funmilayo Ransome-Kuti (2023), and House of Ga’a (2024).
