Top 5 Upcoming Video Games February 2026
After two slower months of video game releases, February 2026 is looking like a typical epic February. We had to have two runners-up this month. Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties is a remake of Yakuza 3 with an extra campaign from the POV of one of the game’s antagonists. Romeo Is a Deadman is a brand new third person action game from auteur dev SUDA51. Any other month, and both of these games would have made the Top 5. Without further ado, here are the Top 5 Upcoming Video Games February 2026:
5. High On Life 2 – February 13
High On Life 2 is the sequel to first-person shooter High On Life. The original was incredibly creative and fun. The protagonist’s alien weapon was voiced by Rick and Morty co-creator Justin Roiland, which complimented the stand-out comedic writing. This sequel promises more of the same, but with a greater emphasis on the Metroidvania elements. There will also be dialogue options when talking to the player’s weapons. High On Life 2 will be available for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC upon launch, with a Switch 2 port coming in April. High On Life 2 almost didn’t make the cut in the Top 5 Upcoming Video Games February 2026 because its competition was so strong.
4. Dragon Quest VII: Reimagined – February 5
For some reason, Square Enix decided to remake Dragon Quest VII (with a different visual aesthetic) amidst the HD-2D remakes of Dragon Quest I-III. Dragon Quest VII is a long PS1 2D JRPG. It took me over 200 hours to beat. Dragon Quest VII: Reimaged promises a graphical overhaul and quality of life upgrades. It’s called “Reimagined” because it’s trimming some of the fat off the original game, to create better pacing, and a more streamlined experience. Dragon Quest VII: Reimagined will be available for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Switch 2, Switch, and PC. Mainline Dragon Quest games are always obvious entries in lists like the Top 5 Upcoming Video Games February 2026.
