What’s the plot of Kaalipotka? Kaalipotka follows four women – Sreema, Rani, Rinku, and Minoti, who bond over the death of Minoti’s husband. While trying to deal with the dead body situation, they become entangled in a dark web of lies and a high-stakes chase involving the police and a former con man.
Kaalipotka centres on four formidable women, played by Swastika Mukherjee, Shruti Das, Minoti, and Himika Bose. They hail from marginalised and challenging backgrounds. Despite facing systemic obstacles and personal hardships, these women demonstrate extraordinary resilience, courage, and self-confidence.
Their personal struggles intersect only when tragedy strikes: Minotti’s husband dies under mysterious and unsettling circumstances. This tragic event becomes the catalyst for their unlikely alliance and the foundation for a strong, solid friendship.
As they dig deeper into the circumstances surrounding his death, the women are drawn into a maze of deceit, corruption, and betrayal. They face a legal system riddled with bias and inefficiency, while simultaneously being pursued by law enforcement and a ruthless ex-con, Rana (played by Anirban Chakrabarti). His own motives add another layer of danger. To survive, they must combine intelligence, insight, and courage, learning to trust each other and themselves in the process.
