Naomi Watts’ model daughter Kai Schreiber, 17, steals the spotlight at Paris Fashion Week

Naomi Watts may be a red-carpet veteran, but at Paris Fashion Week it was her daughter Kai Schreiber who captured much of the attention.

The 17-year-old rising model joined her famous mother at the Balenciaga Womenswear Fall/Winter 2026 show in Paris on Saturday, effortlessly commanding the spotlight as the pair posed for photographers ahead of the event.

Kai looked every inch the fashion industry’s next big star, stepping out in a sleek black ensemble that reflected Balenciaga’s signature edgy aesthetic. Her outfit featured a sharply tailored silhouette paired with a statement Balenciaga belt, while a small black clutch added a polished finishing touch.

Keeping the look dramatic, Kai opted for smoky eye makeup that complemented her long blonde hair, which she wore loose around her shoulders. The overall effect was effortlessly cool – a confident appearance that suggested she is quickly becoming comfortable in the fashion spotlight.

Beside her stood Naomi, 57, who mirrored her daughter’s monochrome style in an all-black outfit of her own. The Emmanuelle actress wore a strapless black top with a softly curved neckline paired with tailored black trousers.

She elevated the sleek look with a pair of heels and carried a compact black clutch, creating a coordinated mother-daughter moment that felt both elegant and understated.

Kai – whose father is actor Liev Schreiber – has been increasingly attracting attention in fashion circles over the past year. The teenager publicly came out as transgender in 2024 and has since begun carving out her own space within the industry.

Speaking to Variety earlier this year, Liev shared his pride in his daughter after she came out.

“Kai was always who Kai is,” he said. “But I suppose the most profound moment was her asking us to change her pronouns.” He added that it didn’t feel like a dramatic shift for the family.

“To be honest with you, it didn’t feel like that big of a deal to me only because Kai had been so feminine for so long.”

The aspiring model has also been open about her ambitions within the fashion world. In a 2025 interview with Interview magazine, Kai revealed that she has dreamed of becoming a supermodel for years.

“I always wanted to grow up and be a beautiful, glamorous, influential woman, like Marilyn Monroe,” she said. “I want to be a supermodel. Period. I’ve been practicing my walks in the kitchen for years – my mom can show you all the videos I forced her to film.”

She also credited trailblazing figures such as Alex Consani, Hunter Schafer, Hari Nef, Richie Shazam and Colin Jones as inspirations. With her striking Paris Fashion Week appearance alongside Naomi, Kai is already well on her way to making that dream a reality.
