COMMISSION on Filipinos Overseas (CFO) Secretary Dante Ang II highlighted the importance of developing retirement-friendly communities and assisted living facilities.
Ang last week paid a courtesy visit to Taguig Mayor Lani Cayetano to explore collaboration on how to promote the city as a “welcoming home” for Taguigeños overseas.
Ang and Cayetano discussed ways to align CFO programs, like the BaLinkBayan Project, with Taguig’s development priorities to encourage Taguigeños abroad to invest, retire, and participate in the development of the city.
Cayetano informed the CFO that Taguig is an ideal destination for overseas Filipino investors or retirees because of its investor-friendly and transparent policies, continued infrastructure and urban development, and its large and youthful population.
She cited opportunities for overseas Filipinos in real estate, township, and lakeshore developments, interest-bearing investments, and inclusive projects developed in partnership with the private sector and nongovernment organizations.

“Our transformative, lively, and caring agenda doesn’t end within our borders, our overseas Filipinos should be with us wherever they may be,” Cayetano said is a Facebook post. “We identified thoughtful ways to respond to migrants’ nostalgia by promoting Philippine culture and the arts, while welcoming third- and fourth-generation Filipinos abroad into a deeper, more meaningful connection with their roots and motherland,” Cayetano said.
She lauded Ang and other CFO officials for their “valuable partnership and shared commitment to connect generations, strengthen identity, and support local development.”
